Still thinking about whether to go and get the latest certification this year? Well, Global Knowledge has recently released a review of the 15 top-paying certifications for 2014 that might help you make up your mind.

- Certified in Risk and Information Systems Control (CRISC) by ISACA – $118,253
- Certified Information Security Manager (CISM) by ISACA – $114,844
- Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA) by ISACA – $112,040
- Six Sigma Green Belt – $109,165 [not exactly IT specific, but it made the list]
- Project Management Professional (PMP®) by PMI – $108,525
- Certified Scrum Master by Scrum Alliance – $107,396
- Citrix Certified Enterprise Engineer (CCEE) – $104,240
- Citrix Certified Administrator (CCA) for Citrix NetScaler – $103,904 [as this cert has been discontinued, IT pros will need to transition to the Citrix Certified Professional – Networking (CCP-N)]
- Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH) by International Council of E-Commerce Consultants (EC-Council) – $103,822

I’m confused. How does one that scores in dollars, higher than numbers 3 through 15 only get an honorable mention? Or am I mis-reading what the point was, I thought the topic was top paying IT certifications… maybe it was by volume of people holding it as well… I’ll have to go read the original article…

I thought that too, Ken, when I first read the honorable mention list. They do state that those on the honorable mention list they only had a small sampling for.
